Looking For Family Bonding, Try Camping
Posted by admin under Uncategorized
One of the greatest experiences for family bonding is a camping trip. By leaving all the electronics at home for a few days, you and your family are forced to spend time getting to know one another once again.
Camping can be a lot of work, but is also a lot of fun. Cooking over a campfire or even with a camp stove is quite different than using the microwave at home. Perhaps you will discover the great taste of real food cooked over a real fire once again. When you finish, you will be reminded that there is no dishwasher at your campsite, so you will have to wash all dishes that are not disposable by hand.
The good news is that without electronics, you will have lots of time that you can use for nature walks or to go to see the ranger’s nightly shows. Take time to view all the wildlife as well as flowers that bloom along the path. Even if the kids are too noisy and scare the animals away, take time to enjoy the beautiful plants and wild flowers you will see on those hikes. Be sure that you breathe in all the fresh air you can.
In the evenings after dinner you can play family games by the lantern light or someone can pull out a guitar and your campsite can lead the campground in your favorite campfire songs.
If the above described camping trip sounds like fun for you, go ahead and reserve a campsite for your family fun today. You can stop reading right here.
Now that we have cleared out that crowd, here is some more information for the rest of us. If that trip sounds exactly why you have quit camping, listen to this. Many camping locations have electrical hookups. You will find plenty of power to keep all your favorite electronics charged and to keep the kids happy. If you do not want to cook, you can Mickey D’ a few blocks down the road so that you do not have to worry about paper plates, forks or clean up.
When that you hear the first group walking by on their nature walk, quickly stash everything in the tent, use a stick to poke at your campfire, smile and wave. They will keep going and you can get back to life.
