Eco-tourism, adventure-tourism or nature-tourism is increasingly becoming an attraction in the leisure industry. Tourists are attracted to the wonders of nature. The tourism industry offers these pleasures usually at an exorbitant cost with their sophisticated package that includes expensive places to stay, be they hotels, resorts or cabins. Outdoor camping has become a thrilling adventure of its own. Camping is moreover less expensive and can be tailored according to one’s likes. It is usual for campers to take off for a few days and rough it out with the elements of nature in its full glory. Usually they opt to live out without any shelter, or take shelter in crude structures or tents. The tents come in different sizes suited to different purposes. Popular among them are the transportable camping tents. The camping sites are usually public or private.

Campers who prefer to keep moving their camp carry camping equipments as their backpack. These equipments are lightweight. They are able to carry them over long distances to locations that are far away and isolated. These locations may be mountains or the woods or valleys. Mobile camping is cheaper than the use of trailer or motorhome for camping. Amongst the camping equipments that they carry as backpack is the essential camping tent. This makes it possible for them to set up camps where they like.

Amongst the varieties of camping tents that are available to the choosy camper is the all season two person camping tent that you could choose the  north face mountain 25. Camping is a great way to experience the great outdoors and get to see part of the countryside. One of the main requirements for camping is a camping tent. This is one of the required camping supplies in order to be able to enjoy the camping trip effectively. This tent should be able to provide the camper with adequate shelter from any given element which may be present depending on the season. A canvas camping tent is one of the many varieties of camping tents to choose from. There are some causes of using a canvas camping tent which should be considered.

Advantages Of Canvas Camping Tent

One of the advantages of using a canvas camping tent is its capacity to be inherently cooler than a nylon tent under a blazing sun. The natural color of the canvas camping tent easily reflects the heat of the sun and wards it off without absorbing much of it. Since the canvas camping tent is manufactured from natural fibers and fabrics a sustainable resource which can be recycled to an extent that it may not harm the environment.

Another advantage of a canvas camping tent is the fact that it is basically easier to repair than any nylon tent. Due to the fabric from which canvas tent is made it is easy to repair the damages of it which is is one of it’s advantages. The ease of maintenance is also another advantage of the canvas camping tent. When nylon tears, the fabric is difficult to mend and it is also difficult tot sew a nylon fabric.

Disadvantages Of Canvas

The main disadvantage of a canvas camping tent is its bulk and weight. A canvas tent is much more difficult to keep and carry than the lighter nylon tents. This means that the person carrying this will have a difficult time lugging the canvas camping tent around in the rough road. While canvas has a natural waterproof element to it, it is not altogether waterproof to some extent. Once this fabric gets soaked or wet under extreme rain, it will be even heavier than it was originally. A canvas camping tent may not be able to provide enough ventilation if it is closed due to the ravages of rain or snow.

Welcome to my series on the joys of family camping. In this series I’ll remember my own childhood to help you learn why I think that family camping is a wonderful family experience. My family started camping when I was 13 years old and in the 39 years that followed, I’ve had some tremendous family experiences while camping. In the process, I’ll turn you on to some great places to camp and help you make a list of the basic equipment you’ll need.

One of my favorite parts of a family camping trip is the chance to experience wildlife up close and personally. The first example of this in my life was on our very first family camping vacation. It was June of 1969 and my dad decided that we would try camping for our summer vacation. Dad decided we were going to visit Assateague Island National Seashore and see the wild ponies. Imagine how special it was for my sister, brother and I (aged 4, 10 and 13 respectively) to see those ponies running around in nature. Yes, we could have stayed at a motel and driven to see the ponies, but it simply wouldn’t have been the same as waking up, closing our camping tent, packing our picnic basket and then walking to where we could check out the ponies. It felt to me like we were part of the ponies’ environment rather than intruders into their environment.

Among the amazing wildlife I’ve encountered while camping are wild moose in Maine, a spectacular monarch butterfly migration in Long Island (yes you really can go camping in Long Island), dozens of hawks and bald eagles in Central Pennsylvania, thousands of tiny frogs near Myrtle Beach and hundreds of deer in one evening on Virginia’s Skyline Drive. All of these trips have left me with memories for a lifetime. I only wish the quality of cameras was better when I was a kid. That reminds me, don’t forget to take your camera on your next camping trip and when you go, please, please take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints.
